Puyallup Valley Dental Care designed a program with the Puyallup Food Bank to combine access to dental care with the opportunity to serve the community. Volunteers who meet specific criteria receive credit for hours worked at the food bank to use toward dental care in our office.

Dr. Urback and his team work as partners with Medical Teams International Dental Van to serve local women through Step By Step, whose mission is to transform the lives of at-risk pregnant women so they will deliver healthy babies, embrace positive parenting, and establish safe homes. The home of Step By Step is the former VanLierop Bulb Farm.
Dr. Urback and the Puyallup Valley Dental Care team adopt veterans through Everyone for Veterans, an organization developed by a retired dentist, which connects volunteers with veterans in need of dental care in their local communities.
Puyallup Valley Dental Care was instrumental in bringing the dental van from Medical Teams International to Puyallup School District elementary schools beginning in 2003. Dr. Urback and team members and colleagues volunteered many hours every year through 2016, providing free care to children and helping coordinate other dental volunteers. At its peak, 15 days of care were provided each school year.
Seattle/King County Clinic brings together healthcare organizations from across the state of Washington to produce a giant, free health clinic in Key Arena at Seattle Center for the underserved and vulnerable populations in the region over four days each fall. Dr. Urback and his staff have made an annual commitment to this effort; we close the office to allow both doctors and staff to volunteer.
Dr. Urback, colleagues, and patients have supported and sponsored several Puyallup Valley Dental Care staff members to travel to Guatemala in 2013 and 2016 with Medical Teams International and Wind of God nonprofit organization to provide dental treatment to school children in the Ixil region.
