“I am excited to be a part of the team at Puyallup Valley Dental Care. I believe that education is the key to a beautiful and healthy smile that will last a lifetime. Through open communication and working with patients to address their dental concerns, I seek to make the trip to the dentist a pleasant experience.” — Dr. Momany
Dr. Momany grew up in Spokane with her mother, father, and two younger sisters. While many of her family members have careers in the fields of medicine and nursing, she chose to pursue dentistry as a means to help people feel good about themselves, beginning with a beautiful smile. For her, dentistry is a perfect blend of her two lifelong passions: art and science.
Dr. Momany graduated as valedictorian of her high school class. She competed in cross-country running, served as captain of the distance track and field team, and raced for the Spokane Nordic Ski team, which included qualification for and competition in the Junior Olympics.
She attended Whitman College in Walla Walla, where she raced for the nationally ranked Whitman College Cycling Team, and graduated with honors in biochemistry, biophysics, and molecular biology. During Dr. Momany’s four years at the University of Washington Dental School in Seattle, she served as the class treasurer and financial chair.
She helped those in need by providing free dental care at a multitude of low-income dental clinics in Seattle (including the Union Gospel Mission and 45th St. Clinic for Homeless Youth), and in impoverished areas of Guatemala and Jamaica. Dr. Momany also spent time tutoring other students as a teacher’s assistant for Gross Anatomy and Operative Dentistry, and mentored underclassmen as a peer advisor. At the culmination of her schooling, she was awarded her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a dental honor society for individuals who graduate among the top of their class and display integrity of character.
Outside of work, Dr. Momany enjoys staying active through hiking, running, and competing in triathlons. She enjoys creating tasty concoctions in her kitchen, including hand-made chocolate truffles. (Don’t worry; she always brushes her teeth afterward!) She continues to express her creativity through painting and a variety of other media.
